Healthy holiday gift ideas

Holiday time is almost here so here are some healthy gift ideas for you:

1) Vitamix

Vitamix
wellandgoodnyc.com

Why is it on the list?

This is my favorite item and one that is definitely on my Santa list. Vitamix is a fast blender that can help you prepare anything from dips, smoothies, purees, nut butters, milks, soups and much more. It comes with a high price tag but it is worth the money as it really speeds up food preparation. Various nut butters are a must have in our household and I am really excited that we will finally be able to make our own.

Where can I buy it?

You can buy Vitamix from many places like Williams Sonoma or Sur la Table. If you are looking to buy this online then amazon.com is a good place to start.

In our house having a meal plan means that we go to the shop less often, the trips to the shops are quicker, we buy only the things we need and we have very little kitchen waste. In addition, it saves money and gives me more time and energy to do the things I love like researching answers to nutrition related questions and teaching Zumba. My boys love knowing what will be for dinner and they look forward to it. Every week they also get to choose their favorite meal which I then incorporate into our plan. Everyone is happy.

However the biggest reason by far why I think meal planning is important is that Continue reading
